What is the Diversified technique?

Diversified Technique (also referred to as DCT) is a Chiropractic adjustment technique commonly used to help restore normal movement and alignment of the spine. The Diversified technique has three main objectives:

Restore spinal alignment
Repair joint dysfunction
Enhance proper movement

Diversified technique is the most used chiropractic technique around the world, with a study showing that in the USA, 95% of Chiropractors use some form of diversified adjustments. Because of this, it is widely regarded as the traditional chiropractic manual technique many know and love!

How does the Diversified technique work?

The Diversified technique works by Chiropractors using short (low-amplitude) thrusts at a fast (high-velocity) over joints to restore normal function. Typically this is completed by hand, but other instruments like a drop-piece table may be substituted. The Diversified technique is commonly known by the popping sound it produces due to the manual movement. If you have been to a Chiropractor in Australia, it is most likely you would have experienced some aspect of diversified technique as it is widely taught as the primary technique by Australian universities.

What conditions can the Diversified technique be suitable for?

The Diversified Chiropractic technique may be suitable for people who experience:

  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Headaches
  • Migraines
  • Chronic pain
  • Sporting injuries
  • Nerve impingement
  • Muscle pain/tension
  • Neck pain/stiffness
